Kind of a funny story.
I had some orthonics made for my fee 'cuz I have an extremely high arch. I was new to the building where I was going to have them plaster my feet. I went to the office building. I was a bit sick that day....headcold...and I wasn't feeling myself 'cuz my head was in a major cloud.
When I reached the 2nd floor, I saw a sign that read Orthodontist. Withouth giving it much thought, I walked in and was asked by the lady behind the counter to sign in on the computer. Whatever. So I signed in. I was then asked if I'd like to brush before seeing the doctor. I kind of just stood there. I couldn't understand why somebody would want to brush their feet before seeing the doctor.
"Sure I said," thinking I had some dead skin on my feet and some callouses. So I was handed a toothbrush and was told to go into a room and help myself to whatever kind of toothpaste I wanted. I asked her if most people did this before seeing the doctor and she said almost everybody brushes.
So I went into the room...removed my shoes and socks, and started to brush my feet. Now, I've gone to college and graduated with a 3,5 GPA. Brushing my feet with a toothbrush and toothpaste was kind of weird and nothing I had experienced before. Even MY DENTIST has never asked me to brush my teeth before seeing him.
I was taking quite awile trying to get most of the dead skin off when suddenly the nurse appeared and asked me what I was doing. I explained to her that the lady at the front desk asked me if I wanted to brush up before seeing the dentist. The nurse asked why was I brushing my feet and I replied that I thought most people did this before having their orthopedic's made.
Well, she got a good laugh out of this...and so did the rest of the office. They said I meant to go to the Orthopedics across the hall and not the Orthodontist. I rolled my eyes and said, "I'm glad you all got a great laugh out of this."
I stormed out of there and felt like such a damn idiot. I couldn't believe how dumb I was...even though I was sick! At least my feet didn't smell when I took off my shoes and socks.
Argh. I'm a guy in my 30's and I should have known better.
Whatever. At least my feet are doing well with my orthopaedics!
